Platelet Rich Plasma
We are proud to announce that since October 2023, we offer PRP, which is a form of regenerative medicine.
This technique uses the body's own cells to regenerate and heal damaged tissues. It can be used for hips and elbow dysplasia, osteoarthritis, acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, tendon injuries, ligament injuries and muscle injuries. PRP is aslo beneficial for patients that would like their need for medication to be reduced, that cannot tolerate medications due to preexisting conditions, or that don’t want to be on medication long term.
To get the best results, we use our stance analyzer to determine how your pet is shifting his/her weight in order to determine how each limb is affected. We recommend repeating this a couple weeks after performing PRP to compare and see how your pet has improved.
Our laser is used in combination with PRP. We laser our patients 30 min before performing PRP injections for pain management. To improve results, we highly recommend performing laser 3 times the following week, followed by 2 times the weeks after, and once on the third week.
Depending on the animal, a second injection may be needed after 9-12 months.
